Property Listings
Add a New Property
Click Add New Property in the sidebar to start the property setup wizard. The wizard guides you through several steps:
Step 1 — Choose Property Category
Choose your property type:

| Nature Retreat | Campsite, glamping, raft house |
Step 2 — Basic Information
Fill in location details:
- Property name
- Address — searchable via Google Places or entered manually
- City, state, postcode, country (default: Malaysia)
Step 3 — Confirm Location on Map
Your location will be displayed on an interactive map. Drag the pin to adjust the exact position. GPS coordinates are saved automatically.
Step 4 — Rental Mode (Property Rental only)
Choose how your property is rented:
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Whole Property | Guests book the entire property. One price per night. |
| Individual Rooms | Each room can be booked separately. |
This option cannot be changed after the property is created.
For Nature Retreat, this step is replaced with a zone option — name the different areas within your retreat (e.g., "Riverside Zone", "Hilltop Zone") or skip if there are no zones.
Step 5 — First Unit Details
Fill in details for your first unit/room/lot:
- Unit name
- Guest capacity
- Base price per night (RM)
Step 6 — Photos (skippable)
Photos can be uploaded after setup is complete from the dashboard.
Step 7 — Review & Finish
Review the information and click Create Property. The property will be created as a draft. You can publish it from the Setup Hub after completing all information.
OtterSpots Listing Structure
OtterSpots uses a hierarchical structure to organise your properties:
Location
└── Zone (optional)
└── Unit
- Location — Your property as a whole (e.g., "Glamping Riverside Pahang")
- Zone — An area or section within the location (e.g., "Riverside Zone", "Hilltop Zone")
- Unit — Individual bookable accommodation (e.g., "Glamping Tent A1")
Location Types

| RV Park | Sites with facilities for RVs and caravans |
| Cabin Retreat | Cabin in a natural setting |
| Eco Lodge | Eco-friendly and sustainable accommodation |
Unit Types
Each unit in your location can be categorised as:

| Cabin | Wooden cabin from basic to luxury |

| Chalet Unit | Chalet unit within a resort area |
| Villa | Large exclusive villa |
| Apartment | Apartment for short-term stays |
| Cottage | Cozy small cottage |
| Treehouse | Treehouse |
| Container | Repurposed shipping container as modern accommodation |
| Dormitory | Dormitory room with twin beds or bunk beds |
| Farm Room | Room on a farm property |
| RV Site | Site with electricity and water hookup for RVs |
| Room | Standard room in an accommodation |
Required Information for Each Unit
For each unit, the OtterSpots team will need:
Basic Information:
- Unit name
- Unit type
- Maximum capacity (number of guests)
- Number of bedrooms & bathrooms
- Floor area (square feet) — optional
Pricing:
- Base price per night
- Compare price — to show discounts
- Included guests
- Extra guest fee — optional
Amenities & Features:
- List of amenities (WiFi, air conditioning, TV, kitchen, etc.)
- Add-ons offered (breakfast, BBQ set, etc.)
- Whether the unit is self-refundable
Photos:
- Minimum 5 photos per unit
- Living area, bedroom, bathroom photos
- Exterior / surroundings photos
Zones (Optional)
If your location has different areas, you can group units by zone:
- Helps guests choose their preferred area
- Zones can have their own name, description, and photos
- Each unit is linked to one zone
Example zone usage:
- Riverside resort: "Riverside Zone" vs "Forest Zone"
- Large glamping site: "Premium Zone" vs "Standard Zone"
Location Photos
In addition to unit photos, provide photos for the location as a whole:
- Main photo (thumbnail)
- Common facilities photos (pool, BBQ area, etc.)
- Activity photos (kayaking, hiking, etc.)
- Scenery and ambience photos
Photos can be grouped by section (e.g., "Swimming Pool", "Cooking Area", "Views").
